“When the doctors and social workers told me that they wanted to send to a long term care facility I was hesitant because I knew that meant I would not be returning home as soon as I thought. I knew that I wanted to be close to my apartment on the north side of Chicago and also wanted to continue seeing my doctor from Weiss Hospital. I was able to participate in physical and occupational therapy that allowed me to get stronger and taught me several exercises that I still use today. After 4 months, I was ready to return to my apartment.”
